June 17th Workshop & Webinar Replay

The MNMA/SPNN partnership is already preparing for its next hands‑on workshop on Wednesday, June 17, 2026, at the SPNN facility in St. Paul (550 Vandalia St., Suite 170).  The event will expand on the topics introduced in April and May while offering more time for participants to practice digitization and metadata workflows.  An 86‑minute replay of the April 20 webinar is also available for those who could not attend the 4/20 event, ensuring that new participants are ready to dive into hands-on activities in June.

June 17 Workshop Schedule (7.5 hours)

The day will follow a similar schedule with added round‑robin introductions and expanded demonstration stations:

  • 8:30 AM – 9:00 AM: Sign‑in and coffee

  • 9:00 AM – 9:15 AM: Welcome, agenda overview and participant introductions

  • 9:15 AM – 9:45 AM: Media preparation & digitization primer

  • 9:45 AM – 10:00 AM: Break

  • 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM: Hands‑on video, audio, collection care and inventory demos 

  • 11:00 AM – 11:15 AM: Break and station rotation

  • 11:15 AM – 12:15 PM: Repeat hands-on demonstration sessions

  • 12:15 PM – 12:45 PM: Lunch (provided)

  • 12:45 PM – 1:45 PM: Decision guidance and quality control fundamentals

  • 1:45 PM – 2:15 PM: Choosing platforms for sharing your story

  • 2:15 PM – 2:30 PM: Break

  • 2:45 PM – 3:30 PM: Q&A, wrap‑up, survey and optional hands‑on demos

If you missed the April webinar, watch the replay (link provided to registrants) and come ready with questions.  The June workshop will build upon these foundational topics and help you apply them directly to your own collections.

MNMA and SPNN’s “Community Media Preservation Strategies & Archiving Workshops” project is supported in part by the Minnesota Historical Society and aims to create a replicable model for community‑driven archiving across the state.  Participants in both the webinar and the May workshop expressed enthusiasm for continuing education, networking, and resource sharing.
