Minnesota Media Arts Relocates to New Office
Due to continued Covid Pandemic issues, in April 2021 Minnesota Media Arts relocated their primary office to 17 Melbourne Ave SE, Minneapolis, MN 55414.
We wish to thank the Youth Performance Company, (YPC) Jacie Knight and Sherilyn Howes for their generous support for our rental space over the last eight months. We wish them the best as they start to reopen and offer classes at YPC. We enjoyed our collaboration assisting YPC with their online videos and digitally converting their education training film series.
The COVID-19 pandemic continues to impact our communities and we are taking the necessary precautions to support safe distancing, masks, and remote offices to ensure the safety of clients and staff. Minnesota Media Arts will continue to provide our services remotely through electronic meetings: Zoom, Google Meet, and FaceTime. We are continuing our media collection care service contracts and researching additional funding solutions for a permanent MNMA office solution for increased access to services and projects. We will be open by appointment only.
Minnesota Media Arts relocated in 2020 to the Fairview Business Center in St. Paul Minnesota. We are excited to be part of the St. Paul Midway’s Creative Enterprise Zone that has attracted many arts and cultural organizations to the area. (Sept. 2020-March 2021)
We wish to thank our shared facility supporter the Youth Performance Company (YPC). MNMA will be assisting YPC as they expand their digital media presence across multiple platforms. The Youth Performance Company, founded in 1989, is a world class, award-winning youth theatre company that develops and empowers young actors, singers and dancers to reach their artistic potential and become community leaders. Young artists participate in all aspects of creating cutting edge performances, including writing, directing, building sets and designing costumes. Many of YPC’s artists have gone on to professional careers in the arts or have used their experiences to become leaders in our community.
We are currently working on two projects, one for the Cass Gilbert Society to preserve and convert their collection of video lectures recorded over the last two decades, 1999-2017 and we are also managing a cataloging and conversion process for the Cable Arts Consortium Video Collection 1983-1991. We greatly appreciate the support of the Minnesota Arts & Cultural Heritage Fund to enable these two critical projects to be undertaken to address the Magnetic Media Crisis a major objective for MNMA.
